Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Has anyone used a Quickjack BL-6000XLT to lift a 996. I just bought it and the jack it too long to go under the car. I looked at the SB-5000, but choose the bigger one to deal with all of my cars. The goal is to lift the car, get the wheels off, and then put the lift underneath. Any ideas on how to lift the front end of the car with out using standard lift points? The rear can be lifted from the cross member. Calling Quickjack today, but I'm afraid I bought it because I have no original packaging. Thank you for any insight.

POST 3Original post

Will it fit on the jack points across the width behind the front wheels?

POST 4Original post

You can turn your lift system perpendicular (90 deg) and lift that way. As long as the units are parallel with each other, youre good. Always make sure your weight distribution is even. I usually put a floor jack towards the back for a little extra stability and safety. see video here on the 90 deg concept. You Tube

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

All good ideas. I'm dropping the transmission to change the clutch. Sideways won't work. Although I did consider doing that. Love the video of how not to use a quickjack.
