My concern is that many UK tracks have a 98dB static noise test requirement and I'm worried the after market silencers may be too loud?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm considering fitting a set of non branded stainless exhaust silencers as my standard ones are in pretty poor condition. My concern is that many UK tracks have a 98dB static noise test requirement and I'm worried the after market silencers may be too loud? Has anybody been in a similar predicament? What noise level would a standard GT3 make?

POST 2Original post

May want to ask this question in GT3 forum. More track focused over there and I'm sure this question has been asked a thousand times. Having non branded mufflers isn't a good starting point. Otherwise id say check out you tube and listen to clips of "xxx" mufflers. Thankfully no sound police at Florida's tracks.

POST 3Original post

Very real concern... Over here, different tracks have different limits as well as different measurement techniques. You don't want to resort to this kind of crap to avoid getting black flagged...

This one is interesting as it seems to be more diverting the sound(probably away from the side of the track where the mic measurement occurs) rather than dampening it in anyway. Based on Cali plates, wondering if this is for Laguna Seca specifically?

POST 5Original post

Definitely for Laguna Seca. Local residents put a lot of pressure on track organizers to keep sound limits in place. Total BS and has put off many DE drivers
