Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that report identifying a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'now' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'now' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check connections' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

If you have a voltmeter, check the voltage at the Alpine head.

Maybe that lug/connector dropped down while changing the battery and didn't get reconnected.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I replaced my battery this past weekend and when I went for a drive discovered my radio no longer works... It is an aftermarket ALPINE head unit and I also have what appears to be an amplifier in the hood of my car. I check the fuse by my Drivers door, the fuse behind the radio and reset the little module attached to my amplifier and all checked out good... I have never been into Audio when it comes to cars so I am stumped on what to look for next? I rarely actually listen to my radio in my weekend cars, but I do enjoy a little backround noise. Having it dead silent is just a little strange.
My only idea is to take my car to a Car audio place and have them look it over, but I want to avoid that bill..
Tuned in to see the outcome. My 99 C4 also has a Alpine head with the Stock Amp and an Alpine Amp in the frunk.
I have not had the battery out yet so want to see what transpires here.
Do you suppose that even with an aftermarket radio you still need the radio code for the car to recognize it ??

Does the head unit power up? Is there voltage at the main feed wire to the amp?
Many times the amp will have a separate power feed from the battery. Maybe that lug/connector dropped down while changing the battery and didn't get reconnected.
The stock amp is under the hood, in the "Frunk". Don't know what your problem is, but check all connections. If you have a voltmeter, check the voltage at the Alpine head. I'm guessing its something simple.
The head unit will no longer power up and when I removed the stock battery there appeared to be no extra electrical connection to the amplifier (which I also found strange) as I am use to seeing an extra connection on the battery when someone has an aftermarket sound system.
I will take pictures this morning
