I recently installed a 997 short shift kit into my car. Works great EXCEPT I feel like 3rd gear is moved over a little to the right as opposed to where I thought it should feel like it should be. Also sometimes it feels like I have a lockout of 3rd gear if that makes sense. Has anyone had a similar experience like this?

Yes, the same for me. Second to third travel is very frustrating. I sometimes feel like the shifter is in-between gates and it blocks the shifter from going into third. This only happens upshifting never down shifting. No other issues with any gear change.

X2 Check your cables for proper alignment. I have no such issues with my setup. If you live in a cold climate zone, further fine tuning the cable adjustments can also help shifting in the cold as well. You'd be surprised with even a couple rotations of the cable adjustment.

Yes - I had the same issue. REALLY frustrating!! Bothered me enough, I actually swapped out that tranny for a complete 997 tranny. What a difference!! The gearing is SO much lower, and zip zip between gears. Not something that many are going to do - but (for me, anyway) it makes the car SO much more fun to drive! And 'feels' like another 20 or 30 horsepower.

Talk about going to extremes haha. I'll try the cables though first. I got scared the other day just putting along and I went from 2nd to 1st instead of 3rd. I was only doing 40 so it wasn't anything bad but enough to scare me/really **** me off.

Well, it wasn't something I did lightly.... more than a couple of missed shifts. Did a lot of research and searching to find the right one. I did it mainly for the lower gearing, but the shifting was so much slicker (put in cup cables). Good luck - I feel your pain!
