Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
But after replacing the solenoid, the car would still pop that E6 fuse.
Leading evidence: 'Replace solenoid, the car would still pop' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace solenoid, the car would still pop' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2002 996TT stored until about a week ago for winter with full fuel tank and Stabil. Driven no problem until tank almost empty...and I tried to fill it up and can only get gas to triclke in. Seems like the filler pipe is blocked. No chance of anyone tampering.
Able to get 5 gal in over about 15 minutes of tiny trickles. Tried two different gas pumps..same result. Is there a door or flapper somewhere in the filler pipe that may be stuck. Please tell me I don't have to have this serviced by the dealer! Thanks.

I had this problem with my C4S. For me it was a fuse issue. If I recall there was a solenoid tied to fuse D6 I believe (can someone verify?) that lets fuel in. The stereo is also on this fuse. I have heard others have had this problem too. I do know it is a simple fix.
It's fuse E6, and the same power circuit supplies the cellphone power connector in the 986 and 996.
see this thread for further details on electrical diagnosis:

I had this problem about a month ago in my '04 Targa. Took her the dealership since my car is still under warranty. At first the dealer thought that the solenoid on the little door at the bottom of the filler tube had died. But after replacing the solenoid, the car would still pop that E6 fuse. Turns out there was a dead short in the wiring. The tech only charged 6 hours to find it. Thank goodness for warranties.
Good luck with solving your problem.
I recently heard one of my friends having this trouble as well on a 996 and it turned out to be a leak in the gas tank, apparently if the pressure isn't right the tank will refuse to refill.
FIXED! Cell phone connector had moved in console and shorted E6.
Thanks
for all the help, saved my $$ and I learned something. Weird engineering with cell circuit and ORVR connected!!
Agreed, that must be the most random power circuit allocation I've seen.
Almost like it was an afterthought after the main design was completed.....
Glad it was an easy fix!
