Since I'm pulling half of the engine bay out, do you think I should be replacing anything else while I'm in there?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Plastics in these cars are so brittle In attempts to get to the AOS I snapped this plastic coupler. It looks like a plastic bracket that attaches to the motor and connects two water lines with an 8mm hose coupler. Will get something from an autozone for a quick fix, but want a proper solution ultimately. Can someone help me identify what this part number is, please? 2002 911 Carrera 2

POST 2Original post

Do yourself a favour and just order one of these. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/por...el-99610622652

POST 3Original post

^^What he said. Rausch&Spiegle metal connector part.

POST 4Original post

If you happen to install the Ultimate AOS you'll be able to delete that coolant line all together! Between that and UAOS are two things you'd never have to worry about.

POST 5Original post

JTT, totally agree with you to replace that part and i bought the part, but what has me a little stumped is the oetiker clamp holding the lower hose to the connector. I have to cut off the clamp and put on a new one and there doesn't seem to be enough room between the case and the serpentine belt to fit anything other than another oetiker clamp. I got the clamps and I think I got the right tool, but need to bench test how this works or have you got a better idea?

POST 6Original post

Its a connector to bring coolant to the AOS. Available here as well: https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_In...4aAmSnEALw_wcB

POST 8Original post

Oh, you snuck a regular hose clamp in there?! Cool. I will investigate..

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Cool. Thank you all for the answers. Since I'm pulling half of the engine bay out, do you think I should be replacing anything else while I'm in there?

POST 10Original post

So I replaced that part today with the URO part and frickin part is made of pot metal so it snapped off as I was tightening it in place. i got the damn oerliker clamps on there just right and now have to start over. I'm zip tying it in place until new parts show up.

POST 11Original post

Update. The part being sold by FCP Euro is a better design than the original or the URO metal one that broke during installation. Thank goodness for Fedex overnight. I have a Concours on Saturday!

If you are pulling the engine, replace your AOS with the Ultimate AOS, and it will delete that part. Not putting in the UAOS is throwing money away.
