Ive replaced the RMS Bearing, the oil orings, the oil water separator, master cylinder, new clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, new dual mass flywheel, and installed a G Box 6 speed transmission with a slip differential.

Suggestion

Now that is a nice looking bearing 😀 I have a good six speed 1999 gearbox case if anyone needs one, I too replaced a gearbox with a GBox but due to internal gear failure.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

This is a picture of the IMS Bearing removed from my 1999 911 with 85,000 miles on it. It looks great but I replaced it anyway. Ive replaced the RMS Bearing, the oil orings, the oil water separator, master cylinder, new clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, new dual mass flywheel, and installed a G Box 6 speed transmission with a slip differential. With the help of many. Still more cosmetics to to and paint job. I bought this car from a Copart Auction. First time ever and when they tell you it runs and drives, they lied about this car. When delivered transmission case was cracked and pinion bearing was NG. I have many parts from the old trans that well be available. Great learning exercise for myself as a retired engineer. When all done I will put pictures on.

POST 2Original post

Good for you getting it done. Don't wait to show us a photo or two along the way. I remember thinking that you had an uphill battle but seemed up to the task. Sorry to hear about the auction fiasco. I have wondered about doing that but doesn't really make sense when I think about it.

POST 4Original post

You sir are brave to take on a Copart car project, let alone a Porsche. I never trust the pictures or their even descriptions. But I'm definitely excited to see this turn around.
