1999 stock C4 Cabrio with 85K miles, will be replacing with Bilstein B4 shocks and struts as I don't track it or drive it hard. I have a pretty good idea of what the job will entail having done other cars over the years, but it looks like there may be other "extra" parts I may need in addition to struts and shocks. Strut mounts for front and rear? Strut mount bearings? Strut bumpers or bushings? Also, seems I can get most of it through Amazon, but any other sources for cheap parts? Thanks!

I used B6 and got them from RockAuto. I'm in Canada, and options are significantly fewer for discounted parts. Not all the other sources are great for us because exchange rate, shipping and import taxes pile on, but at RockAuto I can pay in $CDN and the taxes are paid up front. Once I know the parts I want, I always check to see if they have it first.

I just replaced the struts on all 4 corners of my C2. FCPEuro had a kit with everything except the springs. I had started to piece parts together and once I found the kit; it was cheaper in the long run. I also found they have a lifetime warrantee on parts.

Top strut mounts for sure. Even if they look good they're probably not. Unless you have history to prove otherwise, they're a good idea. Helped me a lot. Plus the other stuff you can replace more easily If you need it.

I did the same on my C2 Cab a few months ago. You've covered most of the obvious pieces; bump stops, shock/strut cover, etc.. When I took my front struts off, I forgot to remove the little plastic clip that hold the wheel speed sensor wire ($2/per strut) so I had to buy those from Pelican. Also, remember to get the front realigned. Not done a C4, but the rears on the C2 were a bit fiddly. It's easier if you have an extra pair of hands. Good luck!
