Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Is there some trick to get that dewel pin out - other than a huge amount of patience. It took some effort to get that to move at all but now it barely rotates. Tried with WD40 + some other lubricants etc. but no matter how much I rotate it back and forth while trying to pull up - nothing.

POST 2Original post

Grab it tight horizontally @90 with pin, with some good vise grips, up high enough on the pin staying away from the cases. Twist back and forth horizontally with a little upward pressure. Pin will come out. Might be able to file off the nicks from the vise grips and reuse, or get new ones, they're cheap. Just make sure to take all burrs off the new or old dowel pins before re-using them... jmo

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I got it finally off. After like 1h+ work I guess the "trick" is to grab that as close as possible from the "root" of the pin - securely of course so without touching that engine case. My impression was that if you keep the vice grips even a bit higher like a few millimeters there's not enough force to pull it up. The moment I grab that from the root it was much easier - well even then a lot of power is needed.

POST 4Original post

Grab it with a vice grip and then heat the case up with a MAPP gas torch. Use a hammer to tap on the vice grip from below. It comes off. Do get new ones.
