Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. In 1998 or so I bought a Piper Arrow that had suffered a main gear collapse and associated damage, which was properly repaired, back in 1970!

You'd also want to have the cylinders scoped unless it was done when they changed the IMS.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi,
Long time lurker, getting close to pulling the trigger. Is there a forum where questions like "whats this worth" can be posted?
Looking at a '02 C4s, hardly any options aside from Full Leather, Black/Black, 90K mi. 6mt - 1 accident on the carfax.
Thanks for any guidance you can provide and/or feel free to PM me.
This is the place! The more information you can provide us, the better our recommendation we can make. Include links to pictures and a link to the actual ad for the car.
that said, assuming the car is in good condition, I'd say starting in around 32-ish.
IMS (
EPS)
, RMS, AOS, Clutch, new Sumitomo Tires, Suspension Hr cup coil-overs, Front Diff Flushed, Plugs were done by the previous guy around 65k!
Ceramic Coated, Air Filter, Cabin Filter, New accessory belt, and accessory pulleys, those were done about a year ago

AC compressor, couple little ticks/dents inside, Wheels need to be re-powder coated.
Headlights need a polish
I feel like a very important question is what was the nature of that 1 accident? Assuming it's non-salvage nonetheless. I'm going to go with $41,500 as an offer considering all the extra goodies.
Seeing as there have been a few sitting online for sale around $40k for a while now (albeit they are cabriolet) between $28-$34k wouldn't be unreasonable. I would lean closer to $30k personally with needing to replace the ac compressor and pending how significant of an accident (airbags deployed). Good luck and let us know what you settle on!
The accident happened 2 owners ago. The current owner spoke with the previous owner who claimed he slid off the road in black ice and ripped off all the underbody plastic. Current owner says he took all panels off the front/side and they appear to be original and not painted. No photos of the accident.
The car fax describes the situation as a bit more extreme, but not a salvage title.
"Fents Bursh Crubs" those of you who remember the Car Lounge on Vortex will remember that post.
Hit a tree could mean anything.
If you want this car find an independent body shop and have them look it over. Tell them what happened and where the car was supposedly damaged. They should be able to find any major repairs.
Sounds like a cosmetic front ender. My big question would be is the hood original? New front bumper covers and resprays are so common on these cars that would not be an issue imo.
A very similar 04 C4S just sold on PCar Market for $31.5, and it didn't have the accident history.

There is also a near-identical 02 C4S for sale near me for $40k and its been sitting on the lot since July. If this were me I'd take it to a body shop and get it looked over before making an offer given the accident seems pretty serious. You'd also want to have the cylinders scoped unless it was done when they changed the IMS. If all of that checks out high 20's low 30;s max is where I'd be. Even if the accident was repaired to factory condition you are carrying that on the carfax forever and it will impact the perceived value if you ever want to sell it in the future.
Low-speed accident? Didn't hit in the right spots? Accidents are accidents and if the repair work looks good and doesn't make you double-take, like weird gaps and paint color, it shouldn't matter much. Plus there are plenty of cars out there that get into accidents and never make it into reports. I bought one, M3 that was slid into a tire wall at the track. I would have never known had the owner not been honest with me, the only thing noticeable was there was a pinstripe on one side and not the other. Otherwise, the work was good and all the receipts were there. People get worked up about accidents unless you are buying a car to put into a bubble I wouldn't totally rule them out.
Yep, and mine had nothing in CarFax and when I took it to a body shop for a paint estimate they showed me that the drivers fender was replaced. They did a good job, I never noticed it in three years.
This. If the repair is well done and the price is right prior accident history should not stop a purchase.
Accident history also show up in small aircraft. In 1998 or so I bought a Piper Arrow that had suffered a main gear collapse and associated damage, which was properly repaired, back in 1970! Even though it had flown flawlessly for 28 years and 4000 hours the accident reduced it's value quite substantially. I bought it for a really good price because of the prior damage.
@TheChunkNorris
Huge shout out to Joel for checking out this car for me this morning! Looks like the hood is original (original sticker under hood). All gaps checked out OK and car got a thumbs up cosmetically. He even facetimed me to see if there were any other spots I wanted to check out. Thanks Joel!
Youre very welcome Chris and for guys who are looking at cars in the Tri County area(Dade, Broward and Monroe), Ill be more than happy to check them out.
