Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I currently drive a 2003 C4S, and I am looking to start putting some money into it. I would like to upgrade the exhaust and intake. I am going to order the EVOMS cold air intake, but i am up in the air about which exhaust/ muffler set up to buy. I am debating between the TubiStyle exhaust or purchasing the Fabspeed maxflo exhaust. Any suggestions either way would be very helpful. I am looking for a louder sound and increased performance.

POST 3Original post

I know peeps are gonna chime in with Fister which is the best bang for buck solution, well not really... but close. LOL But seriously I've had both Fabspeed and Tubi's on my car before. Still have the Tubi's if that says anything. However I do think they are priced on the high side, especially considering their QC on their later mufflers. However since you're in SoCal, I don't think it would be an issue.

POST 4Original post

I like the sound of both, but I went with Fabspeed - I think they're a little bit quieter, but at full throttle the car screams. R

POST 5Original post

Fister for me... I prefer everything about this arrangement over the aftermarket mufflers.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Alpine 003, since you have run both. What did you prefer about the tubis? Also did you have any issues with the fabspeed?

POST 7Original post

If you want more of a low tone rumbly sound similiar to muscle cars, the Fabspeeds will probably suit you better. If you like more of a higher pitched sound like the older F1 cars, the Tubi's will be better in that dept. I for one love more of the Ferrari'esqe sound , even any of the Nissan/Infiniti VQ series setups. Obviously though since we have boxer motors, that kind of sound will be next to impossible to get in our cars. I feel Tubi does a good job above 4k to sound less like a boxer than some of the other mufflers.

POST 9Original post

If the cost difference between Fister and Tubi was minimal - say $100 - I'd definitely do the Tubi cans again. The sound difference does not justify the price difference in my opinion - I'd rather have an extra thousand dollars and the Fisters.

While I agree with this, I will say the Tubi has the weight reduction as well. You know in racing every ounce is like $100 deduction so it depends on if you're willing to shell out that last bit for that extra special sound and weight reduction.

POST 11Original post

I have the FabSpeed setup. Love it. Fit and finish is perfect, quality is excellent. Been on the car for many years. No problems whatsoever.

POST 12Original post

I went with the Fabspeed setup.. X pipe, cats and Supercup mufflers.... I am very happy with it, my wife not so much :P
