Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I'll attach a picture of the color codes used by Home Depot in case anyone wants to try the same sample.
Leading evidence: 'Use by home depot in case anyone wants' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'color would blend even more' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Test areas' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

If you went up one level above flat finish then I suspect the color would blend even more.

I sprayed the paint into a plastic cup and then dry brushed it onto two test areas.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have the same, I think it's called 'granite grey'. I just did a search and theres a few references to our parts and granite grey. If anyone can definitively say please jump in.
That is if we're talking about the same dark grey that looks like pencil graphite (but not to be confused with graphite grey
)
Yeah I don't think it's Volcano as that is apparently a 997 interior color.
I wonder if this color from Plasti-Kote will match?

I don't think its a match. Not even close. That paint is a really heavy speckled look. If someone does have a close match please jump in.
Off the top of my head I'd say the Duplicolor textured metallic graphite might be close.

Update:
I was initially going to purchase the DupliColor textured metallic paint as posted above but the sample color on the cap looked much too black in real life at the store. The texture was also very raised and jagged and that concerned me as well. I then spotted a can of DupliColor engine enamel with ceramic which had a dark charcoal speckled cap, color code DE1651. The lid color and sheen looked like a perfect match next to my car's ash tray under the store lighting. Unfortunately I was wrong.
I sprayed the paint into a plastic cup and then dry brushed it onto two test areas. The color might have been good but it was much too glossy once it dried. I then went to Home Depot and had them scan my ash tray even though I wasn't sure how well the computer could match the color due to the speckled nature of the factory finish. I got a sample of their Behr Ultra primer/top coat mixture in flat. I have to say, this paint is nearly a dead match for underlying dark grey. It doesn't have the speckled effect to it, but I dry brushed it on and then dabbed it many times with a small foam paint brush to blend it in. I'll attach a picture of the color codes used by Home Depot in case anyone wants to try the same sample.

Here are two pics after the touch up.
The bottom picture was taken to reveal the touch up areas. If you went up one level above flat finish then I suspect the color would blend even more. Despite that, it blends quite well when you don't have light reflecting off if it at a very low horizontal angle.
