I recently became the owner of a 996.1 C2. My parents handled the transaction since the car was local to them and my father has been driving the car. The other day he came back home and parked it up their sloped driveway with the nose up. Later in the night he shuffled cars around and the Porsche wouldn't go into first or reverse. He described it as having no gate/slot to shift into. Searching the forum, looked like a cable could have snapped or the clips at the shifter/gearbox popped loose. He decided to try it again today before taking a look underneath and it worked just fine. Then after driving around the neighborhood and back up the driveway the issue reappeared. Any suggestions?

Update: Went ahead and got under it...cable had popped out at the gearbox. B1BYzMP.jpg
