Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

My story is fairly similar although I was actually looking for one when I went into a dealer I have used before.
Leading evidence: 'Use before' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use before' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello all. New owner here. First post cause I needed some good pics and finnally got some good ones to share. Bought it a couple months ago while driving by a dealership and had some free time so I thought I would stop and look, next thing I know I traded in my Z4 and was driving her home. It is a 2003 c4 cab with 14000 miles on it. What caught my I was the color. Love the seal grey. It's a manual trans and more options than I can list. Upgraded leather interior and supple leather upgrade and the list goes on and on. Just had the Porsche dealer go through the car and change out the IMS and all fluids. Even the dealer was impressed with the condtion of the car. It really looks brand new. Ever time I drive it, I fall in love with it even more. Just don't understand why these 996 models are the step children of the models. I love it regardless.
The 996 is the _only_ car I have ever bought on a whim without doing a tremendous amount of research. I already owned a Boxster, so I was aware of the...unmentionables...but I couldn't bear the through of not owning this car.
Congrats on your purchase! Take it easy for a while as you get used to the difference from your Z4...while the 996 is really tame compared to the older 911's, you can still find yourself watching the back end pass by your window if things get too sloppy.
Congrats. Looks like you found a really nice one. My story is fairly similar although I was actually looking for one when I went into a dealer I have used before. First drive and I was sold.
Thanks for the info on them being tail happy. have herd that is what they are kinda known for. I dont through it around to much, at least not yet anyway. Its a lot different than what I am used to. Had my share of vette's throughout the years but always wanted something from across the pond.
Anyway, very Pirte car!

Actually "Pirte" was a mistake when I signed up. It was supposed to be "Pirate". Pirate Racing is the offshore powerboat team I co-own and throttle for. Been doing it for about 10 years now and have even won a few national championships. I should have proof read my info before hitting submit.
I am in Chattanooga TN. This is the best time of the year to be here to with the leaves changing and early fall the weather is perfect. To bad it doesn't stay this nice long enough
It's actually pretty hard to do with the 996 - but lift-induced oversteer is definitely still a thing. The whole "I don't want to spin, so I'm going to keep on the throttle" is the one concept know to man to be less intuitive than your first time operating a bra clasp. That sh*t was torture.
Meh. Overrated, and a financial death trap, what with the IMS and general awfulness...
---Just kidding.
Great car and great color! Definitely one to keep forever. Welcome to the cult.
Nice car
Porsche's are like heroin, highly addictive and you will want more than one
See if you can find a Porsche performance driving or car control class. It will be the best $$ you have spent. You will be amazed at how well these cars perform and you will have a blast!
Enjoy it and driver it like you stole it
