Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I bought my 4s to drive year-round (NJ/NY/PA) and have since March 2019. This morning, with a winter storm expected to hit tomorrow afternoon, I drove my wife to several medical appointments. As we were driving on a county road an oncoming municipal truck spreading saline solution on the roads unloaded a huge spray all over the drivers side of our car. My tax $ at work!!! Got home few hours later and found a self serve car wash bay to thoroughly wash off the dried remains. Hard to find anyplace open when temps are below freezing but i persisted.

The treatment truck was just trying to keep your driver side door from freezing shut! Seriously it sounds like he needed to adjust his spray nozzles a little better. Glad you got it washed off.

POST 3Original post

That crap is magnesium chloride and it's way more damaging than regular rock salt. Up here it's fairly common to see 3 and 4 year old cars rusting around the wheel openings again. Pickup truck metal bumpers rusted through before it's out of warranty. The solution even rusts cast iron. It's like the 70's are back!

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Definitely some powerful stuff, i tried rinsing it off when i got home but needed more pressure. My front grill was totally crusted in white crap. Now that i found a wash bay that's open in low temps i will be rinsing it off daily.
