2002 Porsche 996 c2 Tiptronic Long story but here�s the most recent. Replaced tiptronic transmission with salvaged one. Indy then tells me it�s in limo mode with following codes po743 PO753, po763,PO758. He tested continuity to make sure everything was connected. He has determined it�s the valve body solenoid and wants to replace the entire valve body at $2600 . He did use a PWIS If it�s just a solenoid can�t he just replace the solenoid? I told him to double check the conductor plate connection before pulling the valve body. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.already have 2k in labor

While you're waiting to gather responses from this forum, you might also peruse the sites concerning Mercedes, which equipped a number of cars with the same type transmission. I think its designated as a 722.6. GLWS.

Yep the Getrag transmission was used in Merceded-Benz cars. it's pretty reliable.

Yes the solenoids are available separately. Also the conductor plate which fails frequently and the external connector: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/cop...on-service-kit All of these are fairly reasonably priced. There should be no reason to replace the valve body unless it's physically damaged. Even if the springs inside are broken (unlikely) the springs are available separately for a few bucks each.

Take it to a transmission shop. They should be able to figure out if it can be fixed or the entire valve body needs to be replaced. You mechanic is probably not that good at fixing automatic transmissions so have a specialist look at it.
