Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I don't recall what color is in the car, since I used a wiring harness adapter.
Leading evidence: 'Use wiring harness adapter' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use amp turn' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
Make sure to use the amp turn on lead, and not the power antenna lead (they look similar).

Suggestion
If you do use the antenna lead by mistake, the speakers will work while listening to the radio, but not while listening to CDs, or using an auxiliary input.

Suggestion
A little counterintuitive as the wiring harness I was using had a couple other leads next to that one that didn't actually connect to anything, so it got lost in the mess until I figured it out.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all,
I just hooked up a Kenwood DNX571HD unit to my 2001 C2.
Everything works right on the head unit end, but theres no sound (or static) coming from the speakers.
Powers up fine, functions as should in accessory position, and turns off when the car is off. Just can't get any sound from the speakers.
Theres also no "radio station info" on the tuner.
Also, on the power antenna wire, what is the 12V stem off for?
Could I have blown a fuse?
Sounds to me like the remote turn on lead from your Kenwood is not connected to the turn on lead for the factory amp. (It may be the same as the power antenna lead. Some head units have separate connections for amp turn on an antenna, some just use the same one)
Also, you need to connect that power antenna connection. The antennas in these cars are amplified.
Most likely this. I just installed a Pioneer head unit a couple weekends ago, and had the same issue until I realized you have to connect the remote turn on lead as well. A little counterintuitive as the wiring harness I was using had a couple other leads next to that one that didn't actually connect to anything, so it got lost in the mess until I figured it out.
That crossed my mind as well, where is the amp connection? and what source or wire on the back of the head unit should be connected to the amp?
Thanks for your help guys, the wiring diagrams for the Porsche stereos don't indicated where the amp is.

Make sure to use the amp turn on lead, and not the power antenna lead (they look similar). If you do use the antenna lead by mistake, the speakers will work while listening to the radio, but not while listening to CDs, or using an auxiliary input. Kenwood (and other mfrs) turn off power to the antenna lead when not using the radio.

Sounds like you cut the factory plug off the car's harness and are connecting the head unit directly.
Unfortunately when I bought the car the previous owner had done so to connect a pioneer unit. So I went and crimped the wires directly. I had ordered adapters prior to removing the old unit, but I saw that after.
Pelican says: there will be a smaller yellow connector that outputs the signals from the head unit to the amplifier. If you have a factory amplifier installed, then you can simply adapt the signal from your new stereo into the leads on the yellow plug, as I have done with this stereo installation. If not, then you simply hook up the speaker leads from the new stereo to the adapter that plugs into the brown connector.
