Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Have not posted here in a while. Just got Ruf bumper and back and forth on it. Though maybe I would get some help. I do have a fitment issue with the Ruf bumper and may have to get them to send another one so if I don't like, I may just put stock back on. What do you guys think.
In black, it hides all the features (bigger openings, the upper grill, etc). It's not that big of a difference. Certainly not one that I would spend $2 or 3K to achieve...
I think the RUF bumper actually looks more like it should be on the car than the OEM. My vote is for RUF...very nice.
BTW, what rear wing is that? I have a CAB and have wrestled with getting a wing and I don't like the wimpy carerra wing and I was told I didn't really have any other options.
Haha. It seems about split. Kind of where I am at. That is why I am asking for help or perhaps validation. I guess if everyone said wow the Ruf is killer, it probably would convince me to keep it. I think I like stock better. Sometimes though, the Ruf bumper looks so cool from different angles.
Wow! The RUF bumper is killer! You should stick with it!
Seriously though, I think you should keep the RUF bumper. I got the RUF RGT front bumper myself (I have a 2000 with the pre-facelift headlights). The RUF is more aggressive than stock but not over the top like the bumpers from TechArt and Gemballa. And it complements the wing very nicely.
Definitely keep RUF, it look nice with misha wing...
RUF is upgrade, stock just stock...
Hey Doug, do you have spacer in front? My cousin put a new RGT bumper on his C4S last month and we all think it need some front spacer to smooth the line out...
I am not sure what had to be done except that is was a fairly in depth ordeal. The front radiator had to be flipped upside down and the brackets had to be modified or bent on the radiators. There is new plumbing and everything. It all comes with the kit. I am sure if a spacer is needed, it would come with the kit. If it was the Ruf RGT bumper, it comes with everything you need. My shop guys said the only issues were what I mentioned above. If you have a copy of the Ruf, then there is no telling what all you need because there was a box full of 10 to 20 parts for the conversion.
I try and stay away from fiberglass after market stuff because of past experiences and horror stories. Even this polyurethane Ruf bumper has a flaw that I am not sure can be fixed. I think Ruf will have to send me a new bumper because after looking at defect in the polyurethane shell on mine, I cannot imagine how it could be fixed.
Saw the RuF bumber on a silver turbo coupe today... looked really nice. I wouldn't say one looks better than the other, but the ruf doesn't look worse, and its more unique.
Pretty much sums it up for me. I think both have their pluses and minuses. I have had 3 996 TTs and I have always hated those stock non aero lower lips. I painted my 03 and it looked okay. I like it because it is unique.
As to wheels. I cannot find any I like. I struggled with this for weeks and gave up. I almost ordered the 18 inch Ruf modulars, but I don't think they look $ 6k better (with tires) than the stock rims. I also didn't like the way 19s felt on my 01 TT and my cabriolet is already a pig. 19 inch wheels on it would make it even more piggish.
Sorry, didn't make my sounds clear. I mean wheel spacer. the RGT bumper are so aggressive look and made stock rims looks way inside. the RUF wheels always come with wheel spacer depend on what model, some come with 5mm and some with 15mm...factory have those too for about $300.
My cousin pick up the RGT bumper from RUF Dallas and drop at dealer have them put it on. dealer had no problem from what I've been told. I was surprise how complete the RGT kit too...
Good luck.
