Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi All I'm doing a bit of work on the car , doing the vario chain Ramps and and going to clean my lifters out and re oil as one is a bit noisy on start up for a few seconds when cold so maybe it's gunked up. From what I can figure first I need to heat some marvel mystery oil to 160 degrees ( is that right? So hot) I'm going to use an electric travel hob and a digital thermostat. Then pump the lifters and tensioners in there to clean all the gunk out. Should I after the marvel process then heat my engine oil to 100 degrees and pump the lifters and tensioners in that it will they pump up with the marvel and are good to go?? Thanks in advance for any help on this ?

POST 2Original post

Yes that's the best way, I have a full set of 2000 lifters I have done this to if anyone needs a set.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Did you heat the marvel to 160 degrees c? Then oil or just marvel?
