However, recently we have test driven the Macan S and it is nice.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So I've had a few Panamera's as loaners and a couple of Cayenne's (also owned a 955 TT and S); when I took my TT in for service I got a P4 for a loaner (very basic model without many options). Going form the CTT it felt small and nimble.
Fast forward a few months, my 996 has been in twice (just normal things I don't have time to do myself). First I had a Cayenne S Hybrid which I didn't like 1 bit, today I'm in another P4 with lots of options (full leather, heated cooled seats all 4, Sport and PASM) I took her on some twisty's on the way into work with sport button on, psm off and PASM on sport plus. It feels like a boat now!
No point to this post, other than this; once one daily's or even gets used to a 911 (or even a Boxster/Cayman) with a great suspension set up (GT3 level or better, she does have some GT3 components but I digress) anything else I drive feels big, slow, leans too much. This worries me, because I'm going to hate my winter car (thinking 00-02' audi s8 or something like that).
It's all perspective as I know when we take long road trips in the SUV and I get back in the 996 it feels so low and "raw".
But then when I ride in a track car and get back in my car I feel like it's a 1980s Cadillac.
FWIW, most cars past '04 seems soft and heavy to me too, even outside of Porsche.
Even the MK2's feel relatively soft and less toss able than my mk1(flamesuit on).
what do you expect??? The Pan is a four door saloon grand touring car and the Cayenne is an SUV. Of course they are gonna feel like land yachts compared to a 911.
Most soccer moms and real estate agents don't really want a 4-door people hauler that's set up for the track...
The issue here is with expectations, not reality...
The Cayenne has more body roll a Jerry Springer episode. That's just the way it is...
Lol guys I know that...but with PASM; all the reviewers and Porsche documents state it is "sporty". I think my thing is, for someone used to a Lexus, yes it is extremely sporty, but to come from something somewhat "hardcore/track ready" these feel like a 70's Cadillac lol IMO
It's all relative. Against any of its competition the Cayenne is a solid and steady beast of a thing when being thrown around (can't speak to the Pannys). Comparing it to a true sports car for the sports car features is always going to lose (just like comparing a 911 against a Cayenne for versatility (eg interior space, towing ability, number of occupants, etc) is equally silly).
I do know what you mean though. I've been driving her 996 more than my 958 recently (especially in the fun manners) and for the short period that I could push it today the difference was glaring.
My problem exactly. My 328 wagon feels like a 1968 Olds Vista Cruiser in need of new shocks.
I guess the only anwer is to work on the Bimmer's suspension to "bring it up to code".

This post somewhat describes my feeling when test driving a Panamera for the wifey with the intent to change our Mercedes ML. Panamera was a well-mannered, not so nimble car; not a colossal difference from our ML. Ultimately, we didn't pick it up. However, recently we have test driven the Macan S and it is nice. Small SUV (not big), nimble, and peppy. We're going to place our order soon.
