Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Looked online and all the posts/videos I came across say to dismantle part of the suspensions to get this done...but I didn't on my 2004 C4S. Removed the under tray, crossmember and fuel tank protector strap, then there is enough room to drop the axle down at the differential and out of the bottom.

POST 2Original post

Always great to save some time. Thanks for the info!

POST 3Original post

Very cool. Just a matter of releasing the 340 ft lb axle bolt?

POST 4Original post

In the Professional Technicians world we call that "flat rating " flat rating= a procedure that differs from the "official printed procedures / instructions " ( book time ) but saves a **** load of time...

POST 5Original post

I got to experience this when I converted my C4S to RWD. Hardest part was when I had to catch 80lbs of differential one handed with 14 ground clearance. I love flat rating.
