Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Run perfectly' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace coils' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

If you want to change the number 1 coil with a new one Amazon has a cheap one that works well for the test then you can change out to an OEM coil packs when you change all of them, link below, I also attached a picture of firing order if needed.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So, I picked up a new battery from Costco last night. I went with an H7 AGM Interstate battery to replace the OE battery that had died in the car.
After installing it (it started right up), I backed it out of the garage where it had been sitting for about 5-6 weeks; which is unusually long, to give it a wash. Its generally driven regularly throughout the week. Unfortunately, Ive been traveling a lot and havent been home much since July.
After the wash, I restarted the car to pull it back in the garage. It started immediately but had a really rough and lumpy idle. It ran smooth if I gave it gas. Then, when idling, the check engine light went on and I turned it off. I noticed that the gas level was low and wondered if a fresh tank of gas might help. When I restarted the car, it seemed to idle like normal, and the gas station is only about a mile away, so I gave it a shot. When I pulled into the gas station, it started running lumpy again. I filled it with 93 and drove home. On the way home the check engine light went back on permanently.
I pulled out my OBDII tester when I got home and it showed a PO301 code cylinder misfire.
Now, my car only has 48k miles on it but I cant remember ever changing out coil packs on the car, although Ive definitely done the plugs. Is that the likely culprit?
Is there any chance it could be related to the battery? I hooked it up to the battery tender and noticed that it went on for a full recharge; which meant it was at less than 80% of its capacity.
Finally, if I do need to bring it in for service, is it safe to drive 15 miles to a shop for the repair or will I risk causing damage? I can get a flatbed if I need it but Id prefer not, if possible. Unfortunately, I dont have the time to start troubleshooting it myself right now.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
-Eric
Easy to check as I see from your post you have changed plugs if you did the plug replacement your self you are half way there, simply switch out coil pack from cylinder 1 to cylinder 2, check and see if code for misfire cylinder 2 shows. I think the car sitting or perhaps water from the wash can both be a cause for this condition if coil was already weak. If you want to change the number 1 coil with a new one Amazon has a cheap one that works well for the test then you can change out to an OEM coil packs when you change all of them, link below, I also attached a picture of firing order if needed.
good luck

Hi All,
Thanks for all of the advice. I charged the battery, cleared the code, and took it for a longish drive through and around town.
It ran perfectly. Not a stutter or anything. Not a flash of the CEL.
The only thing that really changed was the battery; which is now fully charged. Pure luck? Don't get my hopes up?
