Im already starting to feel like I need to change these orange side markers.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi All - I really hemmed and hawed before buying this thing and would like to thank everyone that contributed to the IMS thread. I think I pretty much read the entire 996 pages of post as the 33K mile cab example (I wanted to then did purchase) hasn't had the IMS touched. But alas, the gods and wife which are kind of one in the same smiled on this gentle soul who has dreamt of zipping around in a 911 since that poster was purchased at Roses when I was 11 years old. 47 now and I'll bet I heard the word 'midlife' around 60 times in the last two days. I feel like there are worse things that someone can do for a midlife crisis and maybe, just maybe, this Porsche can help me do those things. HAHA, j/k.
I have some cosmetic things to improve upon in the inside of the car. driver's visor mirror cover is missing. Some of the interior plastic has had the color worn away. One headlight seems to have been replaced and the other is yellowing a touch. I'll throw a bit of paint correction on the outside when I can get the time. I feel like a head unit with apple carplay would do some good. My wife punched the bonnet switch down into the door sill. When she pulled into the driveway on the maiden voyage from the purchase, I watched as she started jerking the key to remove it from the ignition. That lady
For 28 years, I've been trying to fix this habit of her wanting to force things like there is some fire is going to take her life if things don't work the way she thinks they should - I'll keep trying I suppose.
Feel like I'll be around these parts frequently over the next few days soaking up Porsche knowledge from you fine folks. Heck, I don't even yet know if I have a 1 or 2 or some other appended number. 2002 Silver carrera cab w/manual shift. BTW, I feel like the only reason I got the nod from my girl to purchase was because of the end of Top Gun Maverick. That and I'm awesome ...and modest. Oh, I should include that I dabble in the mechanic arts. I even have a torque wrench!
Not mid-life crisis. A logical extension of working hard and being practical. Its not like you one day decided you wanted this. Youve wanted it all along.
Welcome to the group. These are super cool cars. Mine never fails to give me a smile.
If youve read, hopefully you had the due diligence done. If not, get it done so you KNOW your starting point. Dont be afraid to post questions or work youre doing on it. This is a great resource.
and beware the slippery slope
What's "a slippery slope"?
Congrats on getting the proper solution to mid-life crises! Mines been going on for over

A year into owning my first 911 and I still pinch myself when I sit in it to go drive. Congratulations and enjoy!
