Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

He says the issue is the brake light wiring (& the camera does come on when manually switched on at the radio screen - Kenwood DNX997XR).
Leading evidence: 'brake light wiring (& the camera does come' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'brake light wiring (& the camera does come' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Test point' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

There was also a place under my console that I used asa test point when I was doing the tiptronic to manual conversion wiring.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Question: Where do the Reverse Lights have a connector in their circuit? Specifically, I had an 03 3.6 swapped in a while back. I had no idea that my backup lights were not energizing with the manual trans placed in reverse, until recently when I had a backup camera installed. When I found the camera didn't activate when trans placed in reverse, I asked a few questions of the installer and he swears the wiring is correctly hooked up to the brake light feed. He says the issue is the brake light wiring (& the camera does come on when manually switched on at the radio screen - Kenwood DNX997XR). Which I cannot dispute since I know the engine was swapped out and of course I expect the reverse light wiring could have been affected, either by not being reconnected or by getting damaged.
Can anyone tell me the routing and/or any visual points where I can verify the connectors, etc. Unfortunately, I sort of recently moved and cannot find any of my manuals at this time.
HELP!!
TIA
Jamie
It's possible that your switch is broken. It's located on the transmission and a fairly easy replacement. Mine went dead and my reverse lights would not come on. New switch fixed the issue.
I believe this is it:

Thanks Pete for responding. It led me to the correct one for sure. Your link seems to be limited to 2005 & newer, but the pic doesn't look any different than the $10 one on the link below. But, per the Website filtering, I guess the one (or 2) in this link are better for some reason. I hope it's as easy as making sure the connector is seated properly, but it's good to know the switch assy is available.

Haha, yeah temporarily. It's basically acting as the switch. If the lights come on, you know it's the switch.
There was also a place under my console that I used asa test point when I was doing the tiptronic to manual conversion wiring. Could be the same in the manual cars?
