But normally I use my Snap-on Solus Pro to reset Porsche airbags.

I’m pretty sure that I’ve used the Durametric to reset airbags before.

Only rarely do I use durametric, probably because I need PC.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I ordered a iCarsoft and it was problematic. Didn't want to read the modules on the car. The literature claimed it would, but it would return a read error every time. Not the case with the Durametric. Most better tool.
I have both....and use icarsoft almost always. I found i can pretty much do everything I need to with icarsoft. Only rarely do I use durametric, probably because I need PC. I use durametric to evaluate cars i want to buy.
Jake, do you have any input on the Durametric vs the PIWIS clones that seem to be getting more popular? Im all about supporting the American made companies that designed the product themselves rather than a clone, but wanted to get your take.
Have you considered the Foxwell tool? That is what I purchased. I haven't used it much but it does do some cool things like test the guages, turn on rad fans to test etc.
Here is a thread:
Foxwell NT-530 tool: my experience - Rennlist - Porsche Discussion Forums
About same price as iCarsoft.
You do understand that PIWIS is a proprietary product for Porsche, is sold only to Porsche dealers or independent shops that work exclusively on Porsche and can afford the cost, and a subscription cost is around $25,000/year, right? Right?
It is not something you can download a renegade version of and run it. Get Durametric. Oh, and hell yeah, pay for it.
You might also check out the Launchtech x431. I have the V+ which is pretty expensive (I think like $1,200), however, they do make smaller units that supposedly have the same capabilities (just slower and smaller screens). The benefit of the launchtech is that it works on all makes and models of cars. It also allows you to code. Caveat, when I bought mine, it does not list the 996 as being supported. I have used it on my 996 though recently and it seems to work just fine. They are constantly updating models covered so it's possible that they now state that it covers the 996. The other advantage is that it's Bluetooth so you don't have a cord. Like I said, I am just starting to use in on my 996 so I have not tested all of the features. I also have the durametric pro. The biggest issue I have with durametric is that it only runs on windows operating system. I first caught onto the launchtech from reading posts on the Cayenne forum.
So i was not able to reset airbags with durametric. If it can, it's certainly not obvious. That is why I bought icarsoft...it was able to reset airbags....also i carsoft can do all cars....durametric only does certain porsches

It’s much faster.
