Can you use a seatbelt lock similar to what is used in track or autocross events?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey y'all. After reading many many threads on various forums regarding child seat fitment, I am still left scratching my head. I have a Cosco Finale DX which with the seat back and seat bottom removed, seems to sit on its own ok in the rear seat cavity.
However no matter what I try with the belt / rear anchor, I can never get it actually tight. I am always able to yank on the front and it pulls out several inches.
Another issue I've noticed is with the seat back removed the seat belt lock only works for a period and then as the belt gets really close to all the way back in, the lock releases. Making it very difficult to engage the lock with the seat back removed.
I tried changing the angle of the seat belt receptacle. Tried routing the belt different ways in the seat. No go. Has anyone seen a video or have a truly sure fire way to get a seat in here and actually tight. Given the angle of the seat belt, the shape of seat cavity and the placement of the anchor, I just don't see how its possible to get something actually tight. Help!?
I thought about the seat belt lock. I may give it a go just to try something else. Seems to me like the placement of the seat belt receptacle and the height of the anchor ends up just pulling the top half of the seat tight to the car. So you are left with a seat at does not sit snug against the bottom of the seat cushion or cavity.
Without an anchor point child seat won't be held tightly in place and doesn't need to because child and seat are held in place with belt that locks solid in actual accident.
How old is your child and how much do they weigh?
I specifically bought the Maxi Cosi Rodifix Booster because it fits perfectly in the 996. The base is very narrow. I have about a half a dozen other seats and non of them fit nearly as well.

If your child is over 40 pounds they can use this seat without needing the lower anchoring points. Simply sit the seat in the back of the 911 (without removing the 911 seat cushions), put your child in the seat and then buckle them in with the normal seatbelt fed through the shoulder tab. This seat works great for my 6 year old. He's ridden in it since he was around 4 this way (as soon as he met the weight/size requirements).
Good luck!
