Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Doesnt matter since I replaced the shift **** with one that has the pattern on it.
Leading evidence: 'Replace shift ****' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check system also' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I set my temp to 70F ten years ago and have never changed it.

The logical thing to do is to take the thick coat off once the cars warms up a bit, but if you really want to change the range of temp settings and be a little "industrious", you could "trick" the interior temp sensor with a resistor to change the temp range.

The HVAC setting goes from Low to 64F without any consideration for anything in between for me, and as a consequence, my entire family, who all have to hear me rant and complain about it nearly every day, in the winter at least, makes life nearly unbearable.

Interior temp Sensor part #7 in the diagram is a simple NTC variable resistance sensor, adding or subtracting resistance using a simple resistor will change the temp range.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

There are many, but heres one few talk about
:
One cannot select an HVAC temperature between freezing and 63 degrees F. The HVAC setting goes from Low to 64F without any consideration for anything in between for me, and as a consequence, my entire family, who all have to hear me rant and complain about it nearly every day, in the winter at least, makes life nearly unbearable. I can choose either freeze my *** off cold air from the outside, or 64F is actually way too warm if I have my Canada Goose winter coat on. God forbid I actually took a warm shower that morning, and drank coffee, which makes 64F a sweat condition, exacerbated by the already elevated temperature of my excited pulse due to knowing Im about to get into, and drive, a 911.
Its been 4 years of ownership and I dont know how much more I can take of this. I have to resort to cracking the windows, which forces me to hear a lot more of my fister exhaust. Good luck holding business conversations in the vehicle in that scenario. I get all sorts of comments from the other end of the phone, Are you in your Poor-SHHHH right now?
If someone can please post and recognize (validate for me) the elephant in the room catastrophe that is the missing HVAC temp range issue, then I might be able to get through 2021.
The temp on the climate control display really doesn't correspond to an actual temp. All that temp does is move the blend door over a certain percentage to mix fresh air with heated air. Vice versa with the AC on. You don't happen to have any foam coming out of your vents do you? Just wondering if the blend doors are not "blending" properly anymore.
I would drink ice tea if I was you. Theine free preferably too...
Did you try driving with cooling gloves? They are pretty cool.
Finally but not least, open the windows, The air mix will give you the chill youre looking for...
(Dont mention it, glad i could help, thats all)
Interesting. I'd suggest something is wrong. My 99' C4 Cab's works perfectly and seems to dial exactly any temp I select. But my car has less than 30K miles on it....

Hey, that's an interesting modification. I like that. In my case I do remove my coat before I get in the car. It also gives me better Freedom with my arms.
wait, wait, are you just kidding?
You just need to move to a warmer climate...and leave your coat at Goodwill.
No coat needed down here.
You just need a jacket for maybe 4 days out of the year.
Too cold of an AC is never complained about!
Having travelled a fair bit in the US and in other areas of the world, most things are available in the Toronto area. In fact, many ethnic foods are quite authentic when compared to the originating countries. Surprisingly, have never found good unsweetened ice tea here. This is probably 1 of 2 things I have never found in an around Toronto. The other is:
Grilled escargot. Not in an oven, but actually grilled. If I had to choose a last meal, this would be it. Very unique and scrumptious. Very different than typical escargot. Google "Caracoleta Assada"
Let's see, Chicago? 32F? Get your big Carhartt coat, a nice wool beanie, some cashmere lined leather gloves. Put the top down and forget about the HVAC limits...
Added benefit of continual use of exhaust to drown out callers you don't wish to speak to.
LOL this reminds me of my job before I retired, I would train diesel techs in all 50 states for Cummins, I could be upper New York and the tech. would be in t shirts in 50 degree weather and i would be in jacket freezing, then I would be in Hawaii and tech would be complaining how cold it was and wearing jackets in 68 degree and sunshine and I would be wishing I had shorts on. I like Skips fix..
I set my temp to 70F ten years ago and have never changed it. Winter, Summer, Fall or Spring. I think there is something wrong with your system. It's not bad by design.
Yup, keep mine at 72 all year round in the P-car and Benz and works great here, keep house at 68 in winter and 78 in summer. I would check your system also.
Even in Houston during the hottest summer days my AC only makes it down to 66.
Most of the time it is at 69 during the summer.
During the winter it is on 72-74.
Airbag, I don't need no stinkin' airbag!
Nice MOMO!
Mine is a MOMO Prototipo.
I like the shift pattern on the Batwing.
Where did you get that?
Got a close up of it?
so the shift pattern was a vinyl decal made by my daughter. Ended up not sticking well and came off when I was cleaning one day. Doesnt matter since I replaced the shift **** with one that has the pattern on it. Also the Momo wheel is the Race model but I really like your classic Prototipo!! And I switched the horn button for one with a Porsche logo. Needed some surgery to fit behind the aluminum cover but I made it work 😀
Me too. I looked up NTC variable resistance sensors to see not only what they are but what buying options were out there and saw this:
Range? You want range? I got your range right here, buddy.
Yeah I swapped out the MOMO horn button for one with the Porsche emblem. It really makes the steering wheel look better IMHO.
I have a Function First Classic Shift **** in black delrin.
I really like the feel of the shifter and steering wheel now.
Yeh ... We don't get unsweetened ice tea here ..I miss that .....and since going to my Florida place right now is not really a wise option , I am stuck drinking the sweetened crap ....
We also don't get Sun Drop here .... I used to do a lot of business in the south and people down south drink that stuff like water all day long especially first thing in the morning , they love that stuff
https://drinks.seriouseats.com/2012/...trus-soda.html
Right !! Sun Drop is almost as popular as RC Cola and MoonPie in the South, all of which have been around for about 100 years ..I remember buying RC Cola and MoonPie for a dime...
All while drinking our Pepsi and eating Mae Wests (now May West so they wont get sued by Mae Wests family). Similar to a Moonpie. Is the May West better? Yeah no for sure eh?
