My OBD reader apparently doesn't read Porsche, am preparing to clean ws sensors (bad in 45,000?), looking for ideas.

Also, I pulled the fuses (ABS,PSM) and test drove, no difference.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

'02 996 2wd, 45,000 miles. 3-4 miles from the house the car started bogging, thought it was a flat, in 20-30-yards looking for a drive way to turn into the brakes came on more and more. By the time I stopped the ABS lite and PSM lite came on, with "drive to garage". I have searched and found plenty, but no one has the brakes engaging. After sitting a couple hours the brakes ease off, but not completely, and clamp down in a matter of yards. My OBD reader apparently doesn't read Porsche, am preparing to clean ws sensors (bad in 45,000?), looking for ideas. Also, I pulled the fuses (ABS,PSM) and test drove, no difference. Fluid is full, brake pedal feels taught, less free play at the top than normal. Any thoughts apprciated.

POST 2Original post

Is it all 4 corners or just one wheel? Maybe u just have a locked up caliper or a colapsed soft line and its tripping the psm.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It appears to be both front that engage, the rears may be but not as severe.

POST 4Original post

If u turn off the psm does it release? I would guess a bad wheel sensor trigering the psm. I think a durametric or good shop scanner can read the individual wheel sensors.

POST 5Original post

Same thing happened to me. Probably brake booster and/or master cylinder. Here's my thread: Brakes locked

POST 6Original post

Have you removed the air box recently? If you forgot to plug in the MAF both of those lights will come on.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Many thanks, this will get me started.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Have not removed airbox recently.
