Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

But then, when I was just a wee lad, a old mechanic I knew could tighten a bolt with a ratchet or wrench, and I could check it with a torque wrench after and it was always spot on!

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi All - I've searched high and low and have come up with conflicting information. I need the spec for the aluminun cross bar (transverse strut) that ties the L & R suspension supports together. It has M10 bolts so I believe it is 48lb-ft. - Correct? But what about the two black steel struts that tie into the body at the rear rocker and then bolts to the suspension mount. I believe the M10 bolts are 48lb-ft. but what about the M12 bolts? I have seen 74 lb-ft. and 81lb-ft. and finally, what about the nut that goes through the suspension hole about 1/4 of the way along the strut? Thanks all.

POST 3Original post

My spec is Good 'n Tight or 3 Agga Daggas with the impact gun. That's what I did with mine

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you both - SASilverBullet for the specs, and Imo000 for the laugh. Being kinda type-A and pragmatist, I'm going to lean toward my torque wrench on this one. LOL

Absolutely!!! Always use a torque wrench where ever you can on these cars! From a mechanical engineering point of view, the amount of loading on the molecular structure of the nuts/bolts can be tremendously different depending on the size/torque value. But then, when I was just a wee lad, a old mechanic I knew could tighten a bolt with a ratchet or wrench, and I could check it with a torque wrench after and it was always spot on! Talk about muscle memory...

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
