Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I cleaned the area a few times prior to this isolate the leak and determined it was definitely coming from above which was the #3 plug.
Leading evidence: 'Clean area a few times prior' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'cyl head cover' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean area a few times prior' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

The tech washed the oil away and after a test drive reported no signs of any oil leaks and at its servicing since the tubes were replaced the last servicing the car got its usual inspection for any signs of issues -- including oil leaks -- and still the engine is high and dry and free of any oil leak sign.

At first I didn't know if it was the cyl head cover, but it appeared to be coming from higher up.

Suggestion
Guess you need to go back in and clean the oil away and then give the car a brief road test and then have another close look to try to spot the source of the leak before the leaking oil gets too far from its leak origin.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I did one test drive on it and it's still leaking.
I just replaced cyl 3 spark plug tube since it was leaking; very easy job with the location and not having to remove the muffler. I replaced it with OEM tube and seals from Pelican Parts. I did one test drive on it and it's still leaking. Do I need a few heat cycles to expand the seals a little before it'll seal up? It's pretty simple job and can't imagine I missed anything. I coated the seals with motor oil before putting the new one in.
Had the spark plug tubes -- all 6 -- replaced in my Boxster and the tubes/seals were oil tight from the outset. The tech washed the oil away and after a test drive reported no signs of any oil leaks and at its servicing since the tubes were replaced the last servicing the car got its usual inspection for any signs of issues -- including oil leaks -- and still the engine is high and dry and free of any oil leak sign. Might mention too the tech that serviced the car last was not the same tech who did the tubes. He was gone to another dealer before I brought the car in for its most recent service.
Assuming you didn't botch the tube/o-ring installation and the tubes and o-rings are the correct ones for your car, my WAG is the oil leak is coming from some other place.
Any chance one or more tubes on the other bank are leaking and the oil is getting blown to the bank you worked on?
If the tubes are ok then a camshaft cover can leak. The AOS can leak a bit of oil. Even the oil/water heat exchanger can leak.

I cleaned the area a few times prior to this isolate the leak and determined it was definitely coming from above which was the #3 plug. At first I didn't know if it was the cyl head cover, but it appeared to be coming from higher up. Once I removed the spark plug & coil, I could see it was full of oil so I proceeded to replace the spark plug tube and seals. after the test drive, I could see a barely visible oil line coming from behind the coil shield at the #3 plug. Its gotta be from the plug tube but I haven't removed the shield to investigate further; I thought I'd drive it a little first. It's a small leak and I don't get any drops on the floor; just enough to annoy the heck out of me...
I took it apart again, and sure enough there's oil around the coil and in the spark plug tube. What's odd is the highest point of oil is the upper bolt of the coil. I also saw oil in the area near the spark plug. Since I didn't thoroughly clean the oil out of the spark plug area I'm wondering if there was some in there when I replaced the tube. I cleaned the oil from everything and put it back together. I tried pulling the new tube back out with needle nose pliers, like it did last time, and it wouldn't budge; and couldn't get it out. I think it's a tighter seal now. Maybe I just had some old oil in there and now I know it's all cleaned up. I did a 30 minute drive and it's all dry, so time will tell if I fixed it...
