Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

For more horsepower, I figure I would just run my car with 1/8 tank of gas!
Leading evidence: 'Run car' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Run car' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. Suggestion
I see no gains on stock engines when using the IPD plenum, especially with the larger throttle body.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Seems like this confirms just about every test that I have seen on the IPD plenums that I have seen since they first came out, and that is little or no difference.
Food for thought..... people looks to buy a cold air intake or IPD Plenum for their Porsche. I know its a 997 in the video but i am sure its the same basic for the 996.
Vid
I feel like I remember seeing a video where a different intake filter actually lost 2-3 hp and the other mods gained a few. It seems all over the place.
Seems like this confirms just about every test that I have seen on the IPD plenums that I have seen since they first came out, and that is little or no difference. The only ones I have seen that show real gains have been those done by IPD itself. A lot of money to spend for no real benefit.
Glad i saw this vid and a few previous ones. I was seriously considering ordering an IPD intake many months ago but just couldnt bring myself to spend the cash. Glad i never did.
I had one that came on a core engine I bought for parts. A friend of mine saw it and went nuts wanting it , so I gave it to him. I have never missed it...
I saw this video and liked how controlled the testing was. The outcomes are quite remarkable. I had thoughts of picking up an IPD plenum kit but the logic didn't seem right to me.

Great video, I also like the efforts made to consistency. I’ll bet the exhaust one will show essentially the same thing, with the biggest improvement being weight loss.
I see no gains on stock engines when using the IPD plenum, especially with the larger throttle body.
On larger engines we do see huge gains with the IPD, as the short side profile of the IPD comes into play with air speed, and volume, as we add more swept volume per cylinder. The aft portion of the plenum doesn't;t see any volume or air speed on an NA engine, so this does not play any roles with our engines.
The IPD also gives the ability to bolt on the larger TB, which does make a big difference on these larger engines, which are throttle body limited in some cases.
That said, I made 480HP a couple weeks ago with a stock plenum, and stock 997.1 throttle body, fitted to an R44 (4.4L) engine. That engine still utilizes the stock exhaust, and stock cats, too. That engine will get my ITB set up as soon as the owner saves some more funds, so he didn't bother fitting the other items now, for plenum/ TB.
