Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

16 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Took me a few tries, but it came out great. Now it matches the top and my black hardtop.

POST 3Original post

Hmmm. Fascinating! Do you have a pic w/ top down yet?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I will. As soon as quarantine breaks, I’ll have a bud help me put on the hardtop too.

POST 7Original post

I guess I have to see a pic with the top down but I'm pretty sure if I was lucky enough to own a Guard's Red car, I wouldn't paint over even a square centimeter of it.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I posted a quick vid of the top down, but remember, it’s a film. It can come off again

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Avery Dennison Gloss Black vinyl wrap I tried a 3M product, but had a hard time with it. I tried knifeless tape. That required practice and skill I couldnt quite master for these tight spaces. Was told a trick about using the backing paper, inserted into the molding, then bent back so the non-stick side faced out. Apply center of painted surface, squeegee out to the rubber, trim 1/4 out, then start at one end and kind of slowly guillotine the film under the rubber with a credit card. The non-stick backing lets it slide in. Go slow as you can destroy your work at the last second. Im happy as hell with the outcome. The painted surround was a bit Miata to me.

POST 11Original post

I had an E30 convertible (also red) back in the days with a hardtop, during the winters I would do put the hardtop on and swap out the mirrors for black ones. I think your car looks great, think about doing the mirrors while you are at it.

POST 12Original post

I like it. Probably wouldn't make much of a difference on my dark green car.

POST 13Original post

I prefer the body colored windshield frame. But it's your car so if you like it, that's all that matters. Either way, nice job and good looking Cab.

POST 14Original post

Looks great! Looking at the photos I am thinking try wrapping the rear deck behind the convertible top so the black is all at the same level above/below? Maybe try photoshop first. Just an idea.

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a bit of a theme going...
