Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm planning on refinishing my rims soon and wonder what everyone has done to their hubs/spacers to make them look better than what mine is looking like now. It would be kind of a shame to go to the bother of making the rims look nice and not the hub/spacer (not sure what it is since the car is so new to me). Thanks Ralph

POST 4Original post

Lots of people paint their "rotor hats" gray to improve the look. High temperature gray spray paint should do the job, just mask everything appropriately. If you search for "rotor hats" then you should find a few threads.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Dennis and Colorado, that's the advice I was hoping to get. Yours look REALLY good! Ralph

POST 6Original post

Some folks paint the entire rotor so that paint goes in the holes. Braking scrapes off the paint leaving painted vented slots and holes. No rust color from inside the rotor. This one was done by Wheel Dynamics. Pretty

No need to go through all the trouble if you just get Zimmerman coated rotors to begin with.

That only makes sense if you need new rotors. If you are not yet due for replacement rotors.... Just paint them.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Wow, great ideas. Mine look terrible now but with all of your suggestions they should look really nice too when I do the refinish project! Thanks, Ralph
