Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi
my Catalytic converter is failing and Ive been trying to get it fixed since January.

The Porsche factory replacement is about $2.2k!
is anyone else in this predicament?
sucks- I definitely cant drive, track in this condition.
would u trust a used one on eBay etc?
Thanks so much
The good news in Illinois is that they dont sniff test. So you are able to take a look at aftermarket. Ive read that aftermarket 200-cel cats perform well and sound good, arent too expensive.
hi, thanks so much
I heard that its risky to trust a used converter. but, looking at these threads, it sounds like replacing with a used device is somewhat common and not particularly risky?
im not a mechanic- I do my brakes and oil and thats about it! So, sorry if Im asking silly questions.
again, thanks everyone

I had a cat come apart internally and was able to buy one from a rennlister with sensors for a fair price. That was three or four years ago still works good. I paid under $350 shipped for used one. The seller had complete performance exhaust installed on his car and the stock cats worked fine, still are.
