Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I would recommend stopping in the shop and talk to Bart and Mike about your car.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Can anyone suggest a good shop around Chicago suburbs to take good care of my engine? Need someone who knows 996 well.
borescope, compression and leak down tests and taking it from there is any issues are found.
Thanks
Has BTR been around for a while elsewhere? They are new to the Anthony Trail. I think they moved there 1 year ago or so. I used to walk by there often before COVID while at lunch...
+1 for BTR. They have serviced my M2 and M4 GTS, and will be maintaining my newly acquired 2003 C4S (I missed having a Porsche
). The used to have their shop in the Evanston area for many years, before moving to Northbrook. I would recommend stopping in the shop and talk to Bart and Mike about your car. You’ll get straight answers, and can decided from there.
Ive had my IMS done there couple years ago. Unfortunately they didnt think that RMS needed to be done nor the AOS. Ive had a tiny oil spots under the engine but was told that RMS was fine. Fast forward few months and car was showing few drops of oil on the garage floor and smoke on startup... Luckily 2 years and 6k miles later, still very little oil gets to the floor but car is smoking a lot more often on startup. I wish both AOS and RMS could have been done when engine was dropped.
