Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi looking for recommendations on how to restore the metal trim on my 99 C4 Cab with 180k miles. The frame for the top is showing some "wear" but I have been unable to clean this, see the photo. What is causing this and what's the best way to restore it? Thanks again!

POST 2Original post

My cheap and easy suggestion is Forever Black. Clean the trim, mask off the glass and fabric and apply the dye. Apply several coats, let each one dry. I've had success with it on faded trim on some other cars. Forever Black on Amazon Forever Black on Amazon

Thank you! I had thought about it (actually already bought it) but since this seems to be aluminum didnt know if you had done something different. I appreciate the quick response! Have a great day!

You can clean it very well with all purpose cleaner then use a ceramic coating to bring back the black and make it last long. You can buy Avalon king or another good ceramic coating. It will make it look like new. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAGzDJp642c https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUdSUDObwVc
