Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Has anybody replaced a rear suspension support for a 996 before? Is this a complicated job?

POST 2Original post

I havent replaced it but i have loosened all the bolts and reset them. On the lift it was pretty straight foward. U just remove all the parts attached to it and replace the part.

POST 3Original post

easy job, hardest part is supporting all the control arms/hub or removing the ebrake cable if removing the whole corner

POST 4Original post

Did both of mine a year or two ago due to corroded bolts breaking off, Damn Chicago winters. Not too hard a job. Plan on an alignment when you are done.

POST 5Original post

Agree with everyone here... a fair amount of stuff needs to come off and the carrier supported but accessibility and visibility is good. No special tools needed. Paint mark all the bolts as you get them back in and torqued to spec. Rubber bushings torqued with the suspension loaded. As relayed above - I would get the car realigned when complete.
