Not sure about the master cylinder but if those are M8's as well, I belt they use the same torque too.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

POST 3Original post

Clutch slave M8 bolts are 17ftlb. Not sure about the master cylinder but if those are M8's as well, I belt they use the same torque too.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the info and help. One more question. On the clutch master cylinder, the "clips" that hold the hoses on the cylinder, is there a trick to removing/releasing them?

POST 5Original post

Just pry them out. Btw, also check the last article under "transmission" here http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/996_tech.htm and here http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarti...Hydraulics.htm

POST 6Original post

Good luck with getting a torque wrench on the slave cylinder bolts, they are a pretty tight fit up in there.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Question on the lines attached to the clutch master cylinder. In the Pelican Parts tech article photo (the photo is from Pelican Parts site), the blue line has a "C" style clip, and the black line has an unknown fastener. How do you detach them? Thanks in adavance

POST 9Original post

Just pry out the c-clip on the blue line and squeeze the two small tabs on the black connector and pull on the black line.
