Yep, I had to change my avatar because it was a little bit over the top, or should I say too much of a bottom.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm selling my 2004 C4S, and was hoping somebody here would be willing to give me a price check. I've put quite a lot into the vehicle over the past couple years, but I'm not sure how directly that should translate into final price? I suppose, if I've started out advertising it too cheap, that would be good to know, too! ;-)
My price is lower than most others, but I also don't see those others actually getting sold, which is something I'd like to have happen...
https://rennlist.com/forums/vehicle-...4s-canada.html
It has some high mileage (101k miles, or 178k km) -- is it worthwhile posting into the classifieds here at rennlist.com, considering the premium vehicles advertised? [EDIT: POSTED, link above]
Any pointers welcome -- thanks!
miles might be the only thing?
i bought my 04 C4S cab for 35k in CT last year, but it only had 12k miles on it...it didnt have the work put in that you did though, but it was basically brand new.
Your price doesn't seem out of line, and if it's the cheapest one in Canada, you are at the right place. However, you might want to consider accepting the first decent offer you get.
Best of luck!
And yes, for the few bucks to buy a subscription here, I would also put it up. Your pictures are good. You might also put it on ebay for your asking price or "make offer".
I think your asking price is reasonable.
6 weeks ago I purchased a 2003 Cobalt blue C4S with 110,000 km / 68k miles in Ottawa for $33,500 CAD. Asking price was $35,500. This car was also mint, all services and maintenance done, new clutch / flywheel / rms etc... inch thick folder of service documents and receipts.
Hope that helps give you a recent Canadian reference on a completed sale.
Appreciate the input, guys.
Judging by current advertised prices, I really feel I've gone too low. But I'm not sure what the real 'sold' prices are... You're helping me put together a better picture.
There's a 02 c4s silver/ manual/ 98k miles by me for $23k USD right now. I probably would have jumped on that if I hadn't bought mine a few months back.
2004 996 is hard to get in Canada under 30k CAD let alone a C4s! I think it is priced well, considering the mileage. Perhaps those in the market for a C4S are will to pay more with lower mileage right now. 177k may scare some, despite the maintenance. Being in Winnipeg doesn't help.
Open up the market and post it here in the classifieds.
Looks good to me - EXCEPT the front bumper - which to me - catches my eye immediately and detracts from the car.
Yes i know it's cheap and the new owner could do it - but it would look 100% better sprayed up - not to costly surely- and probably sell quicker.
Here's a local one to me higher mileage and more money

So you feel I should be asking more, closer to the $35k of the 2002, considering all the recent maintenance work? (Although I suspect those are kms, not miles.)
Thank you for the data point. My ask is about US$1500 over, so that's the same price ballpark. Would you say condition were similar?
More importantly... How you liking the C4S -- what a great car, eh? :-D
Yep, I had to change my avatar because it was a little bit over the top, or should I say too much of a bottom. People couldn't browse Rennlist at work for fear my avatar might show up. It was nice while it lasted.
I dropped the price, now around US$21,500.
It's becoming more clear that the true market values of these 996 vehicles is a bit lower than what is assumed in many of the posts on this site.
Maybe a 6-month sales cycle would drum up the right buyer, but spot price in the market seems quite divergent from the prices in the classifieds.
I'm glad you bought this thread up for discussion. I have been doing a little research on pricing to figure out where to price my 04 C4S Cab with $125,000. I have most of the maintenance records and a lot of recent work done in the last year. I was thinking around $22,500 ish. Any thoughts?
NOW POSTED AS A NO-RESERVE EBAY AUCTION:

I've dropped the price on this several times, trying to reach a common ground in the marketplace.
However, even at reduced price, there is significant dialogue and hesitation, and there seem to be high expectations on the pristine character of the vehicle. So I'm posting this as a no-reserve eBay auction. Maybe it will sell for $10, or $10,000. Although $100k seems unlikely, I'll just have to wait and see what happens.
Thanks, everyone!
