Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

On read on the internet, so it must be true, that KK actually had all of his blood removed and replaced with DT40.

IMS and clutch were done together by my indie when I got the car 2000 miles ago, along with a full oil change with the Mobil 1 0W40.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

$5.99/qt, all weights in stock - at least in my local NAPA dealer here in NorCal.
[EDIT]
OK - just did a quick search and found that maybe that isn't the best deal around. First time I've ever bought the stuff (new 996 owner here). Anyway, seemed pretty low, given their normal price is $9.99. YMMV.
I am now running straight olive oil. Not the cheap kind either. I found that I can fit a nice bruschetta in my deep sump oil pan from FVD and have a snack ready to go at any time. The bruschetta is Porsche approved of course.
tshort,
You are a new 996 owner ,so here is a helpful suggestion. Search this Forum for "JGDT40 " = Joe Gibbs DT40. You'll find Mobil 1 is not the best choice for your engine according to the M96 experts.

I squeeze my Porsche's oil out of swarthy former presidential candidates...
Jon Lovitz as Michael Dukakis: "I am the son of Greek immigrants. My parents were little people - little swarthy people. So I understand the American dream. Yo comprende el dremo des Estados Unidos. [ repeats the phrase in Greek, French and Hebrew ] The question you have to ask yourself on November 8th is whose judgment you trust. Do you trust the judgment of a man who traded arms to the Ayatollah and used that money to fund an illegal war in Central America? Or do you trust a son of a Greek immigrant who can think and talk in complete sentences? I think the choice is obvious."
In the Raby-cherishing, acronym-laden words of KK:
I was hoping the OP would read the oil thread where JR explains all about JG preventing CEF and MOF and nothings on the DL.
Cant go wrong with JG for an M96, forget the other worthless oils.
I especially enjoy KK's posts that indicate that DT40 will prevent all forms of failure, will reverse bolster wear on the driver's seat, and may reverse global warming. If you pour a bit of DT40 on the ground, it's entirely possible that at least one canonized saint will pop up from the soil and bless your car on the spot. And isn't that worth $10 a quart?
On read on the internet, so it must be true, that KK actually had all of his blood removed and replaced with DT40. He even built his own dialysis machine for the transfusion with spare IMS bits and tools. The story also said that he was originally going to swap out his blood with unicorn tears but he just didn't have faith in the unicorns purity.
Thanks, SchnellG - most helpful. Hadn't heard of the JG oil before, but glad I did. I've got four days on the track coming up over the next few weeks - why I bought my car. Good news is it came with the X51 option, so hopefully that will take care of the sump-related issues on the M96.
IMS and clutch were done together by my indie when I got the car 2000 miles ago, along with a full oil change with the Mobil 1 0W40. Guess I'll have to get a case of the JG good stuff, and leave the Mobil for another vehicle.
Appreciate all the info. Sorry about another oil thread.
Crap, I too have now responded to an oil thread. And I am, for some reason, in a grouchy mood. Maybe it's because I dropped $1000 on Taylor Swift tonight so my daughter and wife can have good seats and my 18 inch rims still need refinished but I am trying to save money. I need to get my priorities straight.
But...don't freak out about the oil. M1 is fine.
