Just a heads up so nobody makes the same mistake I made recently. Had an oil change scheduled but hadn't received my Speediagnostix test kit yet so I went to the drug store and purchased a small soft rubber bottle to hold the oil sample until my kit arrived. Bottle was similar to something a traveler would use to put small amounts of liquid in to get through TSA checkpoints. Within 2 days I moved the oil sample to the bottle SD provided and mailed it in for analysis. Turns out the bottle contaminated the sample with ridiculously high levels of silicone, so much so that SD repeated the analysis to make sure the readings were real. Learn something new everyday!

That makes sense. I'm not sure if there would be any sort of reaction but perhaps a clean glass bottle or jar might be a better choice next time.

Just to give some idea of the level of contamination, 2 previous UOAs with same type oil (LiquiMoly 5w-40) showed silicon levels of 9 and 5, this sample came back at 1365!!!
