Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I used Dawn (because its low sudsing) dishwashing liquid mixed with hot water in a five gallon bucket with a submersible 1/3hp pump outlet connected to one of the main coolant hoses at the rear of the engine.
Leading evidence: 'Use dawn (because its low sudsing) dishwashing liquid mixed' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean radiators' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
The engine was a similar process using the water pump inlet/outlet hoses.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

This engine suffered a cracked head. Coolant is intermixed with oil and the oil is cappuccino at this point. While the head is being waited on, what is the best way to drain and flush all this contaminated oil from the passages of a 996 engine?
If you are Brave and comfortable, a 5 gal bucket of brake cleaner works best,. Don't run the engine ( manually circulate the cleaner) and use ALL safety precautions associated with flammables...
I used Dawn (because its low sudsing) dishwashing liquid mixed with hot water in a five gallon bucket with a submersible 1/3hp pump outlet connected to one of the main coolant hoses at the rear of the engine. Turned on pump and the Dawn mixture circulated through the main coolant hose, into the long steel tube, thru the radiators and back out the second long steel tube and second main coolant hose into a second 5 gallon waste bucket. I had the engine out for this procedure and was able to do the heater core as well. The engine was a similar process using the water pump inlet/outlet hoses. If you don't do this, the oil will contaminate and swell your rubber hoses of which there are many so get crackin!
New Nickies and JE pistons to the rescue... is this yours or one you are working on for someone else??
You will still need to clean the radiators, heater core, and all the rubber hoses out ASAP...
Not my car, so you are saying this block can be fixed by LNE and Nikasil liners inserted? That is somewhat good news. Although the head is still toast. I think what happened is the head cracked, letting coolant seep into the secondary air injection circuit, ending up with coolant inside the combustion chamber, and as the car is cranked over by the starter, the incompressible fluid cracked the block.
As for cleaning the radiators... all the fluids have been flushed out of the the car and radiators. There is no sign of oil in the coolant, just coolant in the oil.
Yes, well its not a "liner" they machine out the whole upper part of the cylinder , and a big portion of the rest and install a new "wet cylinder" ...made from aluminum and Nickasil plated.
