Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I figured I'll change the WP regardless but the specialist was sure of his conviction so just checking here.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I recently acquired base 911 didn't come with service records, I called the dealer to see if they can provide service history but was told they provide the information only if I was the named owner on record. Has anyone had any luck getting this?
Separately, I went to a Porsche specialist for my water pump on and off minimal leak and was told he remember a Porsche having a WP recall on 996 regardless of age. Any insight is appreciated.
I have owned my 996 for 23 years and dont ever remember a recall on water pumps. But what has become well known is that the water pump will eventually fail and can create cracked heads. The easy fix is to replace it every 5 years or so. No big deal.
Water Pump Recall ???
I don't remember a Recall at all !!! ......But I do remember a TSB on water pumps....Porsche said they were getting back Water Pumps ( warrantied) because they have"stains" that show they had been leaking, but that the pumps were not leaking when they tested them so they would no longer Warranty Water Pumps unless the leaking was " Actively Leaking" ......lol

For the dealer's service record, can anyone share their experience and how I can possibly get those from dealers from previous owners?
Do you have any service records or other paperwork that list the previous owner and a phone number? If so, you should call them and ask them to call the dealership and tell them they can release the history to you. If you live in the same town, you might need to meet the previous owner at the dealership to prove to the dealership you are not scamming them. Alternatively, you can ask to previous owner to ask the dealership to email the records to him and then he can email them to you. I have talked the previous owners of my car. Each one was happy to talk about the car and its history.
When I bought my car, the dealer i bought from only had a Carfax. I went to each place where it was serviced and asked for the records. I took my driver's license, my registration and the bill of sale that I had. The dealership sort of looked at me like I might be scamming them, so I mentioned that I didn't need the previous owner's information, and they could put paper over that part or cut it off. I only wanted the service records. The other places it was service just handed it all over after seeing the registration.
