I have replaced quite a few starters and had them rebuilt.

When I first replaced my starter I got a Bosch re-manned starter because it was cheaper.

Suggestion
But if youre going in to replace a starter, Id replace the y-cable anyway since they are known to cause so many issues and its in between the starter and alternator.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have had slow crank since I bought the car a little over a year ago and lived with it.
Then the starter didn't want to crank her to life after a nice dinner, had a new starter installed the next weekend and it was a huge difference.
The actual starter replacement was easy, getting the plenum in took forever and 2 different tries, 1st time ended in vacuum leak not allowing the car to start, redid the install and all was good the 2nd time.
I bought from Partsgeek after Amazon was weeks out and another vendor cancelled my order day after placing, both options would have been slightly less money but I did not want to wait.

Instead buying an aftermarket starter, get the one int the car rebuilt. All they usually need are new bearings/bushings and new brushes. Any starter/alternator rebuild shop can do the rebuild.
I highly recommend getting a brand new Bosch starter. You can get one off Amazon. When I first replaced my starter I got a Bosch re-manned starter because it was cheaper. That blew up in less than a year. Replaced again with a new starter. All has been good for several years now.
You should consider replacing the Y cable at the same time. There are several good threads on here on how to do that.
I totally agree. Never had a starter do that on any of the cars I have owned in my life. Yes, slow down and slow crank, or no hot start, etc. I have replaced quite a few starters and had them rebuilt. I guess it was just one of those things....
Ok. Then youre y-cable is probably fine. But if youre going in to replace a starter, Id replace the y-cable anyway since they are known to cause so many issues and its in between the starter and alternator.
Follow up
i was just living with the slow cranking starter but then I started having random false alarms going off on the car so after looking up that issue, I had the battery tested And it was bad after just under 2 years so I replaced it and so no more slow cranking and no more 3:00 am car alarms.
I feel kinda dumb for not checking the battery sooner but it always would turn over and never went dead. The good news it was still under a warranty. So no money spent.
