Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

it depends on the offsets of the wheels you use, I'm running OZ allegerita's in 18X9 et53 and 18X12 et 68 (997.1 GT3 fitment) on a 996 C2 with 5mm spacers in the rear and no rubbing and I haven't needed to roll the fenders.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey guys,
I've searched and haven't been able to get the exact answer I want, although I'm sure it's somewhere deep in one of the wheel/tire sizing threads. I am in need of a new wheel/tire setup on my 996 C2 race car and I need to make a quick decision about what I'm going to get. I'm thinking of going with the following sizes, and based on the research I've done, I'm under the impression that it can be made to work without any rubbing.
Front - 18x9 rim with 255/35 tire (Hoosier R6)
Rear - 18x11.5 rim with 315/30 tire
Am I going to need spacers and/or to roll the fenders? Also, is the setup unnecessarily large/wide? Please let me know.
Thanks in advance everyone!

I started without spacers but under high g was getting minor rubbing on one of the rear control arm links. I'm running 245/40 and 315/30 respectively
Hope this helps
My 02 race car (J in PCA) runs the regular Tire Rack OZ allegeritas 8.5" with 245 fronts and 11" rear with 315 rears using with no spacers and no rolling. I could fit more rubber up front but don't need it. Seems 255 might be more air and rolling resistance than is necessary, at least on my car. I've run both 275 and 315 of the same time at the rear and the bigger 315 rears are a nice improvement in rear grip. Though shorter 285/30 rears like a Kumho make a big improvement in gearing/acceleration - like having a ring and pinion mod!
Not really as once the tire is clear of the fender lip (rolled or not), it clears the lip through the entire distance of its travel regardless of where the car's height starts at.
I just placed a 18x9 et52 on my stock c2 (new car I assume has stock alignment) with no tire. At full lock one direction it hits the brake line, at full lock the other direction it hits the diagonal arm. By my initial measurements, I believe a 15mm spacer will be needed. Not sure how Ill clear the fender but I'm hoping a basic fender roll and about 3deg camber will do the trick with a 255 tire.
