Suggestion
I'll check for the screw, and if that doesn't work, will look into replacing that plastic bracket.

Took my bumper cover off today to clean the radiators and noticed my screw had fallen to the bottom of the bumper cover.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

What's up everyone
So I noticed a weird issue that happens to my 996 every so often.
What's happening is the corner of the bumper (aero bumper) keeps popping on top of the wheel well liner, right underneath the side light marker.
It's easily fixed- I just press the inside liner a bit and it pops back behind the bumper corner, good as new again. But every few weeks I notice it "pops back out".
Anyone expiriance this before?
Same issue here too. Aero bumper and mine also the same side. I gave up on popping it back in. One of these days when I pull the bumper to clean the rads ill look into it.
I've had this happen on other cars of mine. There is usually a small plastic bracket that screws to the fender, and the bumper clips into that bracket. Once the bumper is popped loose from the bracket a couple of times, the bracket loses its ability to hold the bumper in place. I'd look into replacing the bracket - it shouldn't cost too much.
your probably missing a screw there. If you pop the side marker out there's 1 screw. If you remove the wheel lining, there is a screw right at that corner. It seems like after a bumper removal, shops tend to forget to screw that one in
A timely thread!
I just had my front bumper resprayed a few days ago, and noticed this identical "pop-out" yesterday. Was wondering what was up with that. I'll check for the screw, and if that doesn't work, will look into replacing that plastic bracket.
There is a screw behind the marker and one below it or next to it. The one behind is easy to get to. The other is difficult. You need to loosen the wheel well liners and get a screw driver in there. That should fix the problem.
Yep, Exactly what was the issue with mine. Took my bumper cover off today to clean the radiators and noticed my screw had fallen to the bottom of the bumper cover. Replaced it and all good.
Since removing the front bumper to clean the radiators and putting it back, I get a double beep of the alarm when I lock the car. I don't have a Durametric to determine what is "open" but I imagine it is the funk. Where is the microswitch and can it be adjusted?
