Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have tried numerous searches on this forum and Google and cannot find any DIY on how to remove the door compartment covers. Do I need to remove the entire door panel? I really only need to get the covers off so I can refinish them. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

POST 3Original post

Push the retaining pins - there are two on each door pocket - out using an awl or other pointy object. Empty the pocket first, as the pin is going to drop into the door pocket. Cup a hand over the spring when you remove that pin so the spring doesn't go flying. Use your phone to take a picture of the pins that include a spring so you'll be able to put it back the way it came apart. When reassembling the hinges with springs - slide the pin halfway in, slip the spring over the exposed end of the pin, and then push the pin the rest of the way home to complete the hinge.
