Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

In doing mine I also learned that cleaning from the exterior helps (I used a shop vac through the installed bumper), but that there is still loads jammed between and behind the rads.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.
Rennlist: 1 discussions
0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.
1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.
I took my bumper off, and moved the AC condensers forward. Now I've done it. Half of N Texas is stuffed in the fins of my rads. Even if I remove them, I doubt I can get all that gunk out of there.
Pretty sure while I'm doing my center rad job, I'm going to just replace the rads. Maybe if I take them out and backwash with a high pressure water gun set on medium. Maybe. Lots of tiny stones embedded, doubt they are going to move much.
Just curious what prompted you to decide to do this - mileage, PM, increase in temp? How many miles? I like the idea of just replacing them since you will be doing the center rad anyway.
I haven't noticed an increase in temp, but I have noticed when the AC is on, and I'm in stop and go the temp needle will go up a few ticks. It's only March so I"m sure that in August I'll be having trouble. So, a combo of mileage(88560), PM, and the addition of the third rad made me tackle it today.
I was able to clean one of them quite well with high pressure water(from the back to the front only), followed by a blow out through the fins with my compressor siphon nozzle and a mix of Kerosene. Messy, but they look much better now. I think I'll give it a gentle wash with dilute Muriatic acid, fresh rinse and good to go.
Mine were the same way. They were filled with dirt and debris, cigarette butts, an old Aquafina water bottle wrapper, and more. It's amazing how much junk gets in there.
I used a soft toothbrush on mine, but everything was dry. In doing mine I also learned that cleaning from the exterior helps (I used a shop vac through the installed bumper), but that there is still loads jammed between and behind the rads.
Ok, I got it all cleaned out and remounting the rads. Waiting on the center rad hoses before I bundle things up.
I made a bracket for my center rad out of sheet metal and painted it red so it will go faster. Once I mount and connect the center rad I'll be able to seal up the front cooling system and move to the back to install the low temp thermo. Then refill and on my way.
What year is your's? I was planning to do the screen thing but on my '03 it's not a flat surface and I couldn't get the screening to lay flat. Any pics of your install would be appreciated.
