Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

This change in the beam creates an improved light-filled pattern when the high beams are activated.

However, you need to be fairly certain the projector units are in good condition (or buy new ones), as you can't easily check the condition of these without taking them apart.
Leading evidence: 'Fill pattern' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check condition of these without taking them apart' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

If you mean the OEM Litronics, then I've recently replaced the halogens with a set of Litronics.

If you can find a good used set, they are a big improvement on the halogens.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So, question of the day. Will a pair of BiXenon headlights ( complete units) fit without any modifications in my 2002 C4S?
Aiming to replace my regular ones that barely lights up their own shadow. And, yes, they are with adjustment for height.
The issue I've had when replacing the headlamp control units in my Cayenne is compatibility and programming of the control unit. I don't know whether you'd have the same issue with your car.
The short answer is no, but they can be swapped in. I dont remember the details but there is a box someone sells that allows their use without the height control circuit. Do a google search because there r several swap articles out there.
If you mean the OEM Litronics, then I've recently replaced the halogens with a set of Litronics. I'm not aware of the "box" that De Jeeper refers to, but for my 996.2 C2, it was a simple plug & play swap.
If you can find a good used set, they are a big improvement on the halogens. However, you need to be fairly certain the projector units are in good condition (or buy new ones), as you can't easily check the condition of these without taking them apart.
The caveats are: The washer jets won't work, & the auto levelling won't work. They can still be aligned manually in the same way as the Halogen units.
I've not tried, but I assume the auto levelling can be made to work by installing the extra headlamp control unit, associated wiring & the two levelling sensors for the front & rear suspension. (This might be what De Jeeper was referring to).
Those steps are for the 996.1, but I think it will be the same for the 996.2. However, I think that unless you also add the levelling sensors on front & rear suspension, then the control unit won't give you auto levelling. The only benefit would be to "
automatically rotate the orientation of the lamps up 1.5 degrees when the high beams are turned on. This change in the beam creates an improved light-filled pattern when the high beams are activated.
" (quoted section is from the pelican link). It might be worth doing, if you also want to add the height adjustment dial on the dashboard.
FWIW There is another article somewhere (either on rennlist or pelican) which describes an easier wiring change that will give you same high beam improvement. I've not bothered with this, as the high beam performance without this is a lot better than the halogens, besides my main goal was to improve the performance without high beams on. I may revisit that in the future though.
