So my horns are no longer working. I was curious if this is a common issue, and if so does anyone have a good replacement suggestion? The relay seems to be doing its job but there is no sound. This is on my 99 C2 Coupe. Thanks !

I thought failing horns were pretty common on our cars because of their location. They are exposed to a lot of moisture. I found out mine were dead the day a jacked up 4-wheel drive pickup pulled right in front of me in an intersection! BTW the brakes on these cars are really excellent. I discovered that on the same day...

The 996 actually has both a high horn and a low horn, my high horn failed soon after purchase.

Same here! I replaced both, since I didn�t want to have to go back and replace the other�and they were cheap. OP: you can listen for a click when you push the horn button. A 2nd pair of hands and a multimeter can show you if you have voltage at the horn side. If you do, both horns have failed.
